Amos
Amos, one of the earliest writing prophets, was the voice of God confronting and challenging the accepted patterns of belief and behavior in Israel. Although the settings are sometimes foreign to our modern day, his message has a theological significance that removes the chaff of pleasure, pride, and religious tradition with amazing skill. His message and rhetorical methods prod the reader to allow the Word of God to speak in a fresh way. - Preface.
