Sam Durell didn't want the assignment. In fact, he was damned if he would take it on. Then he realised that he would be damned if he didn't, so in he went . . .
Something about a painting and something about a new scheme for world government. Cranks, of course. But then cranks are often dangerous men. They have to be watched closely. And since each of these had a beautiful young daughter, Durell got more enthusiastic. There were still some things he appreciated, despite years of hard living and blasé assumptions.
Off they went─Durell and the quartet of cuties. In search of a painting which masked the plans to a nuclear device. And en route they ran into a little bit of trouble. She called herself Madame Hung, Durell called her the dangerous spider, and the world never got the chance to find out what she would have done if Durell hadn't happened along.
