The essays aim to further the exploration of the thesis put forth by Larry Harrison and Samuel Huntington in their widely discussed book Culture Matters which examined the role that culture plays in hindering or accelerating political and economic development in the Third World. This book is a companion volume to Developing Cultures: Essays on Cultural Change (0415952824).
