Comprises the edited proceedings of the International Taurine Symposium held in Osaka, Japan, in June 1995, a satellite symposium of the 15th biennial meeting of the International Society for Neurochemistry. The articles (71 in all) are divided into the following headings: chemistry, biochemistry, and metabolism of taurine; taurine and the liver; taurine and the kidney; taurine in muscle and the cardiovascular system; taurine and the audiovisual systems; taurine and the central nervous system; taurine and diabetes; reports on ten clinical studies; and a special lecture on taurine and enantiostasis.
